Not all hotels are the same

This month we managed a corporate event in Noosa at the Sheraton Hotel.  We’ve managed many special events at this venue over the years and their onsite team is without a doubt one of the best around. Nothing is too much trouble and every request was met with a willing ‘yes’ and ‘whatever you need’.

What a great culture to have in the event management (or any) industry.  This ethos matches our own culture at Veritas event management. Our view is…whatever the client wants….they get x 2.

The excellent service culture in the Sheraton Noosa flows through the entire hotel, just as it flows through the team including all event managers and event planners at Veritas event management. It is a culture we nurture every day at Veritas.

Weird and wonderful hotels – Sala Silvermine Underground suite

At Veritas Event Management we are always looking out for the new weird and wonderful hotels of the world. We like to think outside the box and to try make your next incentive or oversea event a special one. Have you ever said that you have slept underground before? Well at the Sala Silvermine Underground suite in Sweden you and your next incentive group could make that possible! The hotel houses the worlds deepest bedrooms located 155meters underground!! It was originally a Silvermine, producing more than 3 tons of silver a year, and a total of more than 400 tons of silver and about 40,000 tons of lead were extracted – completely by hand! At this hotel your incentive group will see dark winding galleries, vast caverns and magic lakes. Even to those not familiar with mining, the underground setting is sensational. It is cold, damp and dark, but very beautiful. The hotel also has the abilitly to hold your next conference meeting, complete with guides who give your delegates a historical overview of the mines before your meetings. http://www.salasilvergruva.se/en/produkter/dagkonferens/. If you are considering planning your next overseas incentive trip why not choose Sala Silvermine Underground suite? Need help with planning your next special event? Why not call Veritas Event Management on (02) 8908 5600 and one of our event managers will be happy to help.

Something a little different

At Veritas Event Management we are always looking out for the new weird and wonderful hotels of the world. We like to think outside the box and to try make your next incentive or oversea event a special one. If you’re planning an incentive group to a far eastern adventure, then why not consider one of Tokyo’s many capsule hotels. The Riverside Capsule Hotel in Asakusa district is one of the best. A uniquely Japanese experience. Capsule hotels are inspired by the pursuit of efficiency of space and functional comfort – which basically means you won’t have room to swing a cat! Spending one night in this hotel, your delegates at your next incentive trip will come away with an experience that they will never forget.  If you are the event planner for your company and would like some assistance on selecting your next hotel for your overseas incentive trip then why not give one of our Events Manangers a call on (02) 8906 5600.

Decorate your event with cake pops!

Cake Pops are the new cupcakes…

Big call but the food item taking the world by storm is essentially a decorated ball made out of flavoured cake that sits on a long stick, a cross between a yummy cupcakes and a delicious lollypop!

Event managers are always looking for fun new ideas for Food and beverages to be served at their corporate events, incentive programs or other special events and I think the cake pop fits the bill!

Imagine your delegates walking out of a long, information-heavy conference to discover an arrangement of delectable sweet treats waiting to be devoured! The cake pops can be decorated in hundreds of ways and branded with your company logo, their potential effect is only limited by your imagination.

The cake pop can also be made into a fun edible dessert centrepiece to be served at a gala dinner or other a similar type of special event.

A few companies specialising in cake pops include:

So why not discuss having cake pops at your next event with the team at Veritas. Your delegates will thank you for it!

Weird and wonderful hotels – Clink78

At Veritas Event Management we are always looking out for the new weird and wonderful hotels of the world. We like to think outside the box and to try make your next incentive or oversea event a special one. One hotel which could do the very trick is the Clink78 hotel in London.

http://www.clinkhostels.com/en/about/clink78.html The hotel/hostel is originally a 200-year-old courthouse used for petty criminal and less serious offences. Even the punk group The Clash were convicted there in the 70′s. The restored building offers a  combination of hostel dormitory, single and double rooms, as well as 6 original prison cells. It’s funky, up-beat and classy. If you are considering planning your next overseas incentive trip why not choose the Clink78? One thing is certain that your delegates would definitely not forget their experience at this hotel. Need help with planning your next special event? Why not call Veritas Event Management on (02) 8908 5600 and one of our event managers and planners will be happy to help.

New venue with a priceless view

At Veritas Event Management we are always looking out for the next best venue to host your next conference or incentive program. A new venue in Sydney which has opened up their doors for events is the Harbourside and Quayside rooms located on the rooftop of the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia http://www.mca.com.au/about/venue-hire/. Fitted with lime-washed cedar ceilngs, Australian hardwood flooring and floor-to-ceiling glass windows, these two venues provides uninterrupted views across Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and the city skyline. When you hold you next special event or corporate conference, the outside balaconies are a perfect place to hold your pre-dinner drinks and to position your entertainment/band. The rooms are also pre-fitted with production including screens and projectors.

The Harbourside Room can accommodate 300 guests for a cocktail event or 200 for a gala dinner, while the Quayside Room accommodates up to 150 guests for a cocktail event or 100 for a gala dinner. If you wish to hold your next Sydney corporate or incentive event at the MCA, give one of our Events Manangers a call on (02) 8906 5600

Service under one roof!

At Veritas Events management we pride ourselves to be the one stop shop for all your event planning needs. There are numerous event management companies in Sydney that can assist you when managing your next event however often they will outsource services such as Production, graphic design and flights to other companies. Here at Veritas Events management we don’t do that. From the initial meeting with our clients we assign one Production and one Logistic manager to your job, this ensures that there is no communication breakdown from the client to external suppliers. We want our clients and their delegates happy! We also feel that it’s a lot easier for the client to make a change to an aspect of the event if they deal directly with the manager assigned to that area. For example if the client has a change to their event logo they can contact the assigned Production Manager and deal directly with the Graphics Designer to make those amendments. Sydney event management companies which don’t have this service would have to outsource this and this is where issues could arise, for example the turnaround time for the logo change could be affected and also there could be errors due to communication breakdown between multiple suppliers.
Need help with your next event then why not give one of our Events Manangers a call on (02) 8906 5600

The Bloom Hotel

At Veritas Event Management we are always looking out for the new weird and wonderful hotels of the world. We like to think outside the box and to try make your next incentive or oversea event a special one. One hotel which comes to mind is the The Bloom hotel in Brussels http://www.hotelbloom.com/events/services-en.html. This hotel opened April 2008, invited 287 creative young artists from different European countries to paint the rooms of the hotel and make it something unique for the guests. Now guests have the luxury to choose their own favourite room with a hand painted fresco on the wall by their own interpretation of the word ‘bloom’. One other nicety I liked about this hotel is that there is no dress codes, room service or bellboys. Bloom seeks delegates from incentives or corporate events that have an open mind and are prepared to do things differently.  If you would like to do things a little differently or your next incentive or corporate event then why not consider The Bloom Hotel. Contact our event management team as our event planners will make your next special event at The Bloom Hotel a fantastic one!

Wax Hands

I have come across a quirky activity that would be a lot of fun to include into your next corporate event, special event or exhibition program.

It is called wax hands and involves a team of wax casters coming to your event and setting up vats of hot wax in different colours. Your delegate or guest then makes a hand sign (peace sign, thumbs up etc) and plunges their digits into the wax, creating a mould of their hand.

As event planners we are always searching for unique additions to our event planning and I think wax hands definitely hits the spot!
