I recently went on a lunch cruise on Sydney Tall Ships and it was really great. It would be a nice conference activity to do with a conference group who has a half day free – BBQ lunch on deck, drinks etc or even treat your own staff to a nice incentive program on the water.</p>
<p>If you wanted, you could make a team building day out of it and learn how to sail the boat together with help of the ships master. Or just relax and enjoy Sydney’s stunning harbour.</p>
<p>Staff dress as pirates and give a history of the boat, would be great to get delegates in costume too – a themed lunch, something we don’t usually do, so why not! Let Veritas event management create your next special event!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Successful event planning is delivering the best available option for our clients. Recently, Veritas Event Management has been doing some in depth testing in “video over internet protocol testing” (VOIP) , in particular using Skype. In this test, we had to replicate a setup where a speaker could speak from their home or workplace and answer a Live Q &amp; A session with an audience in another state, with the speaker being able to see and hear the audience and the audience being able to see and hear the speaker. This obviously saves budget as the speaker is not needed to fly out and speak and there aren’t accommodation expenses. While this sounds like a fairly simple set up, it quickly got far more complicated and while Skype wasn’t the only option available to us, the testing was a success and we are looking forward to running the event! Here at Veritas, we are more than happy and capable to adapt to our clients’ needs and we believe that this is what helps us to be at the top of our game when it comes to corporate events, incentive programs and event management in general.</p>

On occasion, particularly for corporate events, this involves dealing with both windows and mac-based platforms. Today’s presentations are far more developed than they were even 2 years ago and there is some important knowledge that comes with experience in dealing with the most intricate presentations. Whether our clients are using purely pc based, purely mac based or a combination of both, we have been accumulating knowledge on some subtle and not so subtle differences. Whether it be using optimal settings / software to cue / play video footage or subtle differences between the Microsoft Office Suite on a pc and the Microsoft Office Suite on a mac, you will find that there is no detail that is missed on Veritas’ behalf. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Veritas is in the midst of organising a few corporate events on the gorgeous Hamilton Island in QLD and I would like to tell you all about a fantastic team building activity that the team on Hamilton Island have to offer as part of their special events package.</p>
<p> The Buggy Rally activity lasts for 2 hours and involves the members of your corporate events group being divided into teams of 4 and going out and exploring the island via golf buggies, answering questions and solving puzzles along the way! As an event planner this activity ticks all of the boxes to me for either a team building activity or activity as part of an incentive program. There is an opportunity to bond with your peers, explore the surroundings in a fun and unique way without being too much of a brain strain or too physical.</p>
<p> A great add on would be to use footage and photographs taken during the activity and using them in video production to create a highlights montage video or commemorative video to be sent to the delegate after the event as a nice reminder of their time spent on the island.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Whiskey tasting courses are all the rage as a fun social Sydney event at the moment and would be a fantastic add on to your next corporate event, special event or as a team building activity.</p>
<p> The Whiskey tasting courses are run by an expert in their field and begins with a detailed explanation of the history and processes of whisky making. The ingredients and manufacturing techniques are examined along with the differences between Single Malts, Vatted Malts and Blends.</p>
<p> The expert then leads a tasting course so that the delegates can learn the differing features from Whiskey’s of different ages and locations across the world.</p>
<p> To further the team building element you can have an add on competition that happens after the tasting. The teams are blindfolded and have to use their new appreciation for Whiskey to determine the age, maker and country of origin of 4 different types of the spirit.</p>
<p> This activity is on offer all over Australia so consider a Whiskey appreciation course to your next Sydney event, Melbourne event or Brisbane event!</p>

<p> The Phoenix group based in QLD is one of my favourite resources. They are always coming up with new roving and stage acts for Sydney events, Melbourne events and Brisbane events. One of their newest editions is called “1920’s Opulence” a selection of costumed cigarette girls, 1920’s cabaret dancers and my favourite the Crystal Chandelier girls, women dressed in decadent glowing costumes who mingle with your guests offering them canapés, champagne and brilliant photo opportunities.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last week a friend of mine managed a large corporate event at a hotel and engaged an audio visual supplier they had used previously to help with the conference management.</p>
<p>When they arrived they found that the contractor’s event team had changed and with that so had the culture.  Their event management team had to subsequently work much harder (and spend more time) to make the staging and audio visual side of the corporate event a success.  It proves that no matter how great a track record you think your suppliers have, they are still only as good as the last conference or event or team building exercise you do.  At Veritas event management we are constantly in touch with our event management suppliers making sure we know who is working on our events so there are no surprises. Events are too important to leave anything to chance. No surprises = more control and successful event management.</p>
